आइजोल , कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी ने सोमवार को आरोप लगाया कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी मणिपुर से ज्यादा इजराइल की घटनाओं से चिंतित हैं। मणिपुर में इस वर्ष मई से ही जातीय संघर्ष के कारण हिंसक घटनाएं हो रही हैं।.
कांग्रेस नेता गांधी ने शहर की सड़कों पर दो किलोमीटर की पदयात्रा के बाद आइजोल में राजभवन के नजदीक एक रैली को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि पड़ोसी मणिपुर अब एक संगठित राज्य नहीं रह गया है, बल्कि जातीय आधार पर दो राज्यों में बंट चुका है।.
चुनावी राज्य मिजोरम की दो दिवसीय यात्रा पर पहुंचे राहुल ने इस बात पर भी जोर दिया कि कांग्रेस ने 1986 में शांति समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर करके उग्रवादी हिंसा से प्रभावित पूर्वोत्तर राज्य में शांति बहाली का मार्ग प्रशस्त किया था। .

कांग्रेस के पूर्व अध्यक्ष ने आरोप लगाया कि ‘‘यह शर्म की बात है कि मणिपुर में जो कुछ हुआ उसके बाद भी हमारे देश के नेता वहां नहीं गये। मणिपुर समस्या का एक लक्षण है और ऐसी ही समस्याएं देश के कई अलग-अलग हिस्सों में छोटे रूपों में देखी जा सकती हैं। अल्पसंख्यक समुदाय, आदिवासी और दलित समुदाय के लोग असहज महसूस कर रहे हैं। यह उत्पीड़न है जो भारत के लोगों का किया जा रहा है।’’.
मिजोरम की 40 सदस्यीय विधानसभा के लिए मतदान सात नवंबर को और मतगणना तीन दिसंबर को होगी।.
